Back in Farmville

We left Springfield last night about 7:30 setting off on our 14 hour drive to Farmville. I have never been in a car that long with an almost 5 year old and was more then a little apprehensive. After turning on the DVD player and watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles he settled down to sleep until 4:30 am...We drove through to Virginia where we stopped for breakfast and watched the morning come out. Back into the car, arriving in Farmville about 10:00. Camille came running out to see her brother where they hugged each other and were excited to see one another for about 10 minutes. After a long day, where Caleb actually took a nap...playing outside (where it is very hot), supper, books and now bed.

I love my Nana!

My Nana loves me!

Day 10 Saturday, July 14, 2007

Its Saturday and the day started out with Saturday Morning Cartoons. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, you know! Beautiful day here. Auntie Karen came down to say Goodbye. We played outside in the sunshine. It is beautiful here today. Nana and I played a lot outside. I like to play on the picnic table building things. We had a picnic lunch. Papa came home and we went to play Mini golf over on the Charlestown Road. It was lots of fun trying to get the ball to go in the right place! Uncle Andrew and Amy met us over there. I got to go on the little train ride too and watch Papa hit baseballs. Hes really good! We had a BBQ for supper. Nana let me cook 2 marshmellows all by myself! They were soooo good. I am so lucky. Nana read me the last 2 books from the library (that we hadn't read yet) and then I got ready for bed. I was asleep in no time!

Day 9 Friday the 13th

Caleb slept until 7:15 this morning. A record so far! We had to go to Claremont to get the oil changed in the car at 9....did some shopping at KMart while the car was being worked on.

Got home about 10:30. Had to make a lunch, dig some fishworms in the garden and get ready for fishing! We went down to the boat landing with Dierdre (our neighbor). She had the fishing polls. She helped Caleb put the worm on and cast out the line. Many times. Unfortunately, we didn't catch any fish...which was a major disappointment to the fisherman.

We filled the little pool in our yard for a quick swim. The sun was out when we started but soon clouded up and we finished swimming. Then we did some crafts. We wrote a thank you note to Dierdre for taking Caleb swimming and he made a Nemo fish jar (decorated a glass jar to look like the ocean with fish). He gave it to Dierdre to "share with her family" and put pennies in it.

Played Ninja turtles in the Fisher Price Castle for a long time, had supper, read more books and got ready for bed! 7:30 was bedtime. Busy day...Papa is gone again tonight....Uncle Andrew is coming tomorrow.

Day 8 July 12, 2007

Thursday was a busy day....

We were busy in the morning sorting and rolling all the change from a big jar. We ended up with $110...not bad! This will be for school supplies for Caleb to start Kindergarten.
We had lunch at McDonalds, what a treat.
Then we went back to Linda's pool for another afternoon of swimming.
Caleb is turning into a regular little fish, trying to keep up with my friends grandchildren 8 and 10. That kept us very busy until late afternoon.
Then we came home, played some outside, read books and went to bed!!
Papa was on the road all night in his truck.

Day 7
Last night the electricity went out about 8:00 with a terrific thunderstorm. Found the tap lights (I like better then candles) and proceeded to bed. Caleb woke up sometime around 10 and said it was dark so he came and slept with Nana...the lights came back on after 2am. (Papa was out on the road)
We've been busy today. It was work outside day. Weeding the flower garden (for maybe 5 minutes) and helping to mow the field. Caleb got to sit on my lap and help mow. Then we played Ninja Turtles (of course, I don't know how and need reminding constantly)....Papa got home and played Ninja's too. I went for my massage and Papa played with Caleb. I think they were very busy outside (all the toys are out) and drew pictures with Nana's markers from her craftroom...and with the little people (Uncle Andrew's little guys) and the cars. Now Papa is reading..A Bad Case of Stripes, which Caleb loves. He doesn't like lima beans though.
Making chicken for supper....

Day 6

We started off going to the Library for Story Hour. There were stories about animals and their tails. We got to make a mouse bookmark. Pretty cool. Got lots of new books to read, too.

We went to Nana's friends house to use her big, big pool. Its bigger then the room I sleep in. It is a big inground pool with steps so I played on the steps for a long time until I discovered that I could touch the bottom and walk across to the other side. Then I figured it would be fun to dunk my head under....only a couple of times getting a mouthful...I really had lots of fun jumping off the side of the pool and making my way back to the stairs. I can almost swim....sort of....I had so much FUN.

Nana is hoping I sleep really Good tonight!!!

Day 5 at Nana's....

started off having hot chocolate with Nana, watching Peeps and going to Claremont grocery shopping. Of course, we had to stop off at Walmart where the looking was great! Market Basket is definitely exciting when shopping with a almost 5 year old. He would ask for things and say my Mom doesn't let me either...so I didn't feel too badly!!

Pouring rain here now. One of those hot humid day thunderstorms. Caleb is watching the 2nd Ninja Turtle movie. We were playing outside and came in just before it started pouring.

Oh, guess what? The apple tree came all the way down. So sad for me!

Here is Auntie Su and Caleb. They had a great day playing Ninja Turtles. I know who used more energy and it wasn't Caleb! Su and John left for NYC about 5:00. We are going to MISS them!!!

Here is Auntie Su and Caleb. Su and John left this afternoon, we will MISS playing with them! Day 4 almost done....

Papa and I took Caleb to the Windsor County Agricultural Fair yesterday. There were lots of fun things to do. We saw giant tractors, chickens, horses. Caleb got his face painted and we almost didn't recongnize him!

Papa even got a kiss from a Vermont camel!

...even our big kids still think we're fun. Or maybe just funny...

We had such a fun time when everyone was here to visit! Here's a picture of the kids having a picnic at the playground!
